Johnny Cake Bake

A sweet baked twist on johnny cakes, studded with diced apples or pumpkin.

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, stir together the Johnny Cake Mix, flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, and melted butter.

Blend the flour mixture into the wet ingredients.

Add the diced apples or pureed pumpkin and stir well.

Pour the batter into a pan and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top just before baking.

For a thicker cake, use a greased 9x9 pan and bake about 1 hour at 350°F; for a thinner cake, use a 9x13 pan and bake 35–40 minutes at 350°F.
